The Lammermarkt in Leiden is currently not a very inviting long stay place. The large scale, the parked cars and the constant passing of traffic make it an unattractive area. Only three days a year the square is interestingly occupied. The rest of the year it looks too large and empty.
For the design competition atelier PRO has used elements of the historic structure in order to make the Lammermarkt a place that is comfortable and recognizable.
