UCP officially put into use and nominated for the Groningen Architecture Award!
Three good news about UCP this week: tomorrow, the building will be officially open and last week we heard that the project has officially been nominated for the Groningen Architecture Award. In addition, the project — a joint design with Vakwerk Architects — is also still in the running for the Audience Award, with UCP currently leading the way. The ballot boxes close this Friday, October 4, so this is your last chance to vote: https://bit.ly/4gmkMWa
”The UCP was nominated because we found the ideas that form the starting point behind the design very appealing; that for the users who live in the building, daylight, and the optimal use of daylight, the connection with the outside world, are very important for their health, and we are very curious how that worked out in a design”, Jooske Baris, professional jury of the Groningen Architecture Prize
Curious about the nominations? Initiator Groninger Architecture Month had this beautiful video made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84Gp6bzm5Jk
